A Systems Administrator is responsible for the secure configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of campus computer management systems, servers, and endpoints. This position also actively provides technical support for campus technology such as IT systems, desktop systems, and classroom mediation audio/visual equipment for faculty, staff, and student users.
Essential Functions- Design, implement, and maintain cloud desktop infrastructure using Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune, and Jamf.
- Build, script, package and deploy application software, while ensuring license compliance.
- Install, manage, and maintain physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers and services.
- Install, manage, and maintain networked PC and Macintosh computers and related peripherals.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, email, and cloud file storage.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participate in classroom mediation evaluation, design, installation, and maintenance.
- Train and assist users with hardware and software related issues.
- Work with departments and administration to organize and facilitate the device lifecycle of computer hardware.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4-year/Bachelor's degree (degrees in other fields considered with relevant work experience).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent critical thinking and independent learning ability.
- Flexible self-starter, able to think and work independently while acting as a team player.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Exposure to working in a customer-service, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Recent experience and proficiency in the installation and management of multiple servers (especially Windows and Linux) in an enterprise environment desired.
- Recent experience and proficiency in the installation, configuration, and management of networked Windows and Macintosh computers and related peripherals.
- Experience working with audio/visual equipment such as projectors and audio receivers desired.
- Demonstrated experience in training and assisting network users.
- 3 years of experience.
- 4-year/Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Preferred experience working with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
- Preferred demonstrated experience in the installation, configuration, and management of networked software applications.
- Preferred working knowledge of operating system scripting languages such as CMD, Power Shell, and Bash.
- Preferred proficient knowledge of computer platforms and software packages.
This position is contingent on funding.
