SUMMARY
The Energetics Technician I supports production line operations by manufacturing propellant in accordance with established procedures and manufacturing worksheets. This position involves chemical mixing and handling, operating light machinery, and maintaining strict quality and safety standards in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Performs line functions under the direction of the Line Supervisor
- Add and mix chemicals to manufacture propellant per manufacturing worksheets
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives
- Notify supervisor of defective materials
- Operate dolly, drum roller or other machinery as needed
- Use quality control methods to verify goods are consistent with required standards; uses proper QC, and company established forms
- May operate scales, paint shaker and vibration machinery
- Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned
- Must be able to handle fast‑paced work while standing all day
- Ability to handle a flexible environment
- Ability to understand, follow, and maintain quality and safety procedures
- Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance (training provided)
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to lift and manipulate 100lb objects
- Able to operate independently and capable of short‑term independent line operation if/when supervisor is absent
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Ability to detect problems and report information to supervisor
- Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
- Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods
- High school diploma or equivalent
