Job Overview

As an Extrusion Technician I at GOEX, you run the extrusion line. You are responsible for producing our sheet and roll stock by operating the equipment, making adjustments, performing changeovers, and keeping the line running safely and efficiently. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where you stay actively engaged throughout the shift — not a “push a button and watch” position.

You’ll perform startups, shutdowns, gauge and color changes, roll and die changes, quality checks, and basic troubleshooting. You’ll follow documented processes, maintain accurate production and traceability records, and work closely with your Operators and the Process Engineer to ensure consistent, high‑quality output.

If you’re mechanically inclined, detail‑oriented, and ready to take ownership of a production line, this role puts you at the center of our manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the extrusion line to produce sheet and roll stock according to customer needs, quality, efficiency, and scrap targets
  • Perform basic equipment startups, shutdowns, and safe operating procedures
  • Complete gauge, color, die, and auxiliary equipment changes within established targets
  • Perform roll changes, die changes, and prepare equipment for upcoming jobs
  • Perform quality tests, operate the colorimeter, and make basic process adjustments to keep product in spec
  • Maintain accurate production records, traceability information, and daily shift reports
  • Identify and resolve basic equipment or process issues; elevate complex issues to the Process Engineer when needed
  • Perform routine cleaning, inspections, and minor maintenance tasks to keep equipment running smoothly
  • Assist with Total Clean Outs (TCOs), line cleanouts, and follow line‑specific workflow procedures
  • Follow GMPs, ISO 9001 procedures, and all safety protocols; report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Work closely with your Operators and communicate effectively to keep production running efficiently
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support production
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or machine‑operation experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical ability; able to troubleshoot equipment, not just observe
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and follow material recipes and BOMs accurately
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high‑volume, fast‑paced production environment with frequent task changes
  • Lift 50 lbs frequently (up to 100 lbs with assistance), stand for long periods, climb up to 40 ft, and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Ability to communicate material needs, shift updates, and equipment issues clearly
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple materials, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Ability to locate and follow SOPs, work instructions, TES screens, and material flow charts
  • Ability to work effectively with Operators, Material Processors, Maintenance, and the Process Engineer
  • Consistent attendance and dependability in a 12‑hour rotating schedule
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Primarily a standing role with minimal sitting throughout the shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally assist with 100 lbs; some lifting over shoulder height
  • Frequent bending, pushing, and pulling; occasional squatting, crawling, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and overhead reaching
  • Frequent walking; occasional climbing up to 15 feet; must be comfortable working up to 40 feet above the floor
  • Firm grasping with both hands required for equipment operation and material handling
  • Ability to read and comprehend at a 12th‑grade level; perform basic math; follow written and verbal instructions
  • Exposure to temperature and humidity changes, moving machinery, dust, fumes, gases, and occasional forklift operation
  • Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced production environment with heat, noise, and continuous equipment operation
  • Dental, health, vision, and life insurance
  • Flexible spending account
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • Profit sharing
  • Employee assistance program
