The Court Appointed Advocates (CASA) are community members who volunteer their time to be a second set of eyes and ears for children in foster care. Attorneys in the county often have high case loads, and on difficult cases they may need extra help. CASAs help ensure that children's needs are met while in foster care, representing their best interests in courtrooms and other settings, and providing a consistent adult presence during crisis.
CASA volunteers are everyday citizens appointed to advocate for the safety and well‑being of children who have been removed from their homes due to parental abuse or neglect. They stand up for these children, represent their best interests in court and other settings, and help change their lives. They often serve as the one constant adult presence for many abused children during times of crisis.
