Parks Maintenance Worker Seasonal

Cedar City Parks and Outdoor Facilities are currently recruiting individuals with knowledge of park maintenance to work as Parks Maintenance Workers for the 2026 season. Work may take place in Parks, Cemetery, Baseball/Softball Parks, as well as other assigned areas. Duties are as follows:

• Performs a variety of duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of parks and outdoor recreation facilities, grounds and general environment.
• Works under the general supervision of the Parks & Outdoor Facilities Parks Maintenance Workers and/or Cemetery Sexton performing general building maintenance; assures proper operation of lighting fixtures, doors, windows and plumbing; may assist in framing, painting, roofing or other skilled construction and maintenance activities related to carpentry, plumbing, and electrical; performs concrete and masonry work.
• Assists with proper maintenance and repair of playground equipment.
• Assists staff in cemetery maintenance, clean up and digging of graves.
• Assists in the installation of irrigation systems.
• Operates lawn mowing equipment; assists in pruning activities on trees, shrubs and plants; removes dead, diseased, or injured trees.
• Performs general landscape and gardening duties, including watering and maintenance of potted plants and shrubs.
• Prepares ball diamonds, operates various small equipment to turn soil; chalks field boarders; assures lawns are trim and attractive.
• Operates a variety of types of small and lightweight equipment.
• Minimum Qualifications may include sufficient education and experience to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties. Must possess a valid Driver's License..

This job is limited to a certain number of hours per year, and requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Wage is $12.00 - $14.00 per hour depending on experience.
