Role DescriptionHumble Travel, a full-service travel agency in Cedar Falls, IA is looking for a passionate and dynamic individual with strong communication skills and travel experience. A successful candidate will understand the needs of our customers and work closely with them to create personalized itineraries. Must have organizational skills, expertise with Microsoft Office, and an understanding of the travel industry.
Travel Advisors are dynamic, self motivated individuals with strong communication and organizational skills, as well as passion for travel, and travel experience. Our Travel Advisors are comfortable communicating with current and prospective clients in person, by phone, and electronically. Advisors are adept at interpreting clients’ needs and following through with proposals and bookings of hotels, flights, tours, rental cars, cruises, transfers, and all other requested travel services.
Creativity, flexibility, and strong attention to detail are essential. Expertise in Microsoft Office is required. Some general office duties, including invoicing and travel document preparation, are expected.
A great candidate will have a willingness to learn new functions and to enhance existing skills, patience, and flexibility, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
Duties include:- Offer travel advice to clients on destinations, travel procedures, etc.
- Selling travel to past and new clients in both domestic and international travel destinations
- Follow up with clients about travel plans and make adjustments as needed, including coordinating with the client’s point of contact as the event approaches.
- Research itineraries, fares and schedule information.
- Describe trips to clients and give details on any documents required, such as passports or visas.
- Make alternative arrangements if changes arise before or during the trip.
- Provide client with final travel documents
- Flexibility to adapt and assist to the needs of the business
- Familiarity with domestic and foreign travel destinations
- Customer service and sales skills
- Ability to work independently
- Self motivated
- Ongoing office, destination, software and supplier training
- Collaborate and assist other team members in office
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and team members
- Willingness to learn new programs and processes, including CRM and GDS systems
