Green Iowa Environmental Summer Steward Positions

Overview

Ameri Corps is seeking individuals for 2026 Green Iowa Environmental Summer Steward positions in Cedar Falls, IA. This 3‑month service program focuses on community engagement and environmental education, allowing members to work on projects with local organizations. Participants will develop leadership skills and contribute to sustainability efforts while gaining professional development through training and hands‑on experiences. Members can attend school or work part‑time during off hours.

• Serve in a team‑based setting providing residential energy efficiency services to underserved populations, conducting environmental education, and engaging in community service projects.
• Act as sustainability coordinators in Iowa school districts, colleges, and solid waste agencies to reduce energy and waste, support teachers and students in environmental education efforts, and create project‑based learning opportunities.
• Create environmental education and community programming related to healthy water and land stewardship in conjunction with many local and state partners.
• Participate each week in direct service projects, facilitate online and in‑person education events, organize volunteer events, and complete training opportunities.
