PositionSummary
The Continuous Improvement & EHS Safety Manager is responsible for leading Kryton’s Safety Program and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on creating and sustaining a “safety first” culture and driving operational excellence across the organization. This role integrates safety management with Lean, Theory of Constraints (TOC), and other continuous improvement tools & methodologies to maximize throughput, efficiency, and employee well-being.
This position drives compliance, incident management, training and communication, hazard identification, and safety program management through disciplined follow‑through, strong cross‑functional coordination, and clear accountability. The Continuous Improvement & EHS Safety Manager partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Human Resources, and leadership to ensure safety expectations are understood, embedded into daily work, and consistently executed. This role also manages documentation, reporting, and corrective action processes, and uses Click Up (Kryton’s project management system) to assign, track, and complete safety‑related work.
- Lead improvement initiatives using Continuous Improvement approaches including LEAN and Theory of Constraints (TOC) concepts (identify the constraint, exploit, subordinate, elevate, repeat), throughput focus, and other process excellence methodologies.
- Focus improvement efforts on the system constraint to increase throughput and flow throughout the manufacturing process.
- Use data to identify bottlenecks, reduce work‑in‑process, and improve overall system performance.
- Align cross‑functional priorities to address the system constraint and maximize operational effectiveness.
- Facilitate root cause analysis, standard work development, kaizen events, and other structured problem‑solving activities supporting both safety and operational excellence.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement throughout all levels of the organization.
- OSHA compliance oversight for maintenance, human resources, and production, including regulatory compliance tracking, required reporting and recordkeeping, emergency planning coordination, and periodic program reviews.
- Safety incident oversight and corrective action execution, including documentation, incident investigation facilitation, root cause analysis, and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
- Safety training and communication oversight, including coordinating required annual and recurring training, maintaining training documentation for audit readiness, and leading safety communications to the organization.
- Hazard identification and audit oversight, including leading safety audits and inspections, identifying hazards, prioritizing risk reduction actions, and coordinating corrective action follow‑through.
- Safety program management, including managing safety improvement work and standard work using Click Up, maintaining recurring and one‑time EHS work plans, and supporting continuous improvement of safety processes.
