OverviewThis role requires an outgoing personality and passion for sharing nutrition knowledge and inspiring people to act and achieve their health goals. As the store’s nutrition professional, you will serve as an educational resource providing science‑based nutrition education and training to crew, customers, and the community while performing retail operations such as customer service, stocking, and cleaning.
Responsibilities- Acts as the nutrition education resource for customers, crew, and the community.
- Provides customer service in the vitamin aisles and assists customers with product selection, providing education resources.
- Performs retail operations and maintains customer literature files.
- Maintains the book department, stocks product, faces shelves, and cleans the vitamin department.
- Offers in‑store nutrition and recipe demonstration classes and outreach nutrition classes.
- Provides nutrition education to crew and maintains the Crew Wellness Board.
- Motivates and encourages crew to participate in employee nutrition initiatives.
- Respond to questions and review summaries.
- Provide private one‑on‑one health coaching sessions.
- Build community relationships with partners, guest presenters, and event partners.
- Seek outreach opportunities for nutrition education and brand awareness.
- Maintain continuing education requirements and complete CE assignments.
- Assist management in coordinating company‑wide events and printing materials.
- Order nutrition education supplies and provide training to crew on promoting services.
- Attend monthly meetings, webinars, and building calls.
- A degree or certification in nutrition or a related field (dietetics, biology, biochemistry, naturopathy).
- Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Excel, Outlook). Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, organizational, and priority‑management skills.
- Confidence in front of an audience for cooking demonstrations and nutrition education classes.
- Ability to engage customers and promote events, services, and sales.
- Self‑directed with excellent time‑management and teamwork abilities.
- Motivated to grow knowledge and provide nutrition education to crew, customers, and the community.
- Comfortable working in a retail setting performing stocking, facing, checking product expiration, and cleaning.
- Friendly, outgoing, and approachable.
- Compliance with continuing education requirements: maintain required CE hours or two CE units per year.
