Join the Mercy One Family! We are looking to hire a Patient Care Assistant! As a Patient Care Assistant at Mercy One, you will work collaboratively with the health care team to provide outcome/goal-based patient care. Observes and reports the patient’s response and progress to interventions. Adheres to Mercy One's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Mercy One.

• Full time, 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week)
• Night shift 7:00pm - 7:00am
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

• Supports the team in identifying patient needs and implementing the outcome/goal-based plan of care.
• Assists the patient care team in the delivery of care.
• Communicates relevant clinical information to others to optimize patient outcomes/goals.
• Performs unit-based functions as assigned

Verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of one of the following:

• Nurse Aide I Course
• Nursing Fundamentals Course
• Nurse Aid Competency Test
• Successful completion of the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program (TNAP)
• Successful completion of the Competency Test, Iowa Emergency Medical Technician Certification
• Nurse Aide II - Advanced Course is preferred and may be provided post-hire.

Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
