Position Title: Machine Assembly Technician
Wage: $20.00-$22.00/hour
Shift: 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm)
Location: Waterloo, IA

- Assemble heavy industrial equipment and machine subassemblies using blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions
- Install mechanical components, including bearings, gears, shafts, motors, conveyors, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, presses, hoists, and overhead cranes to safely assemble and position equipment
- Measure and verify dimensions, tolerances, alignments, and clearances using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and feeler gauges
- Perform mechanical adjustments, alignments, and functional testing to ensure equipment operates according to specifications
- Diagnose and correct assembly issues, complete rework, and support engineering changes as required
- Maintain accurate production records and complete quality documentation
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE usage, lockout/tagout practices, and safe material handling techniques
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods during assembly operations
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and machine components weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or lifting equipment used for heavier items
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to climb ladders, platforms, or equipment structures when performing assembly and installation tasks
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, oils, lubricants, and varying temperatures while following safety procedures
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment, such as overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting devices as required
