Overview
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the Center Physician for medical issues. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
The Medical Support Specialist will follow guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs and provide center-level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE (Serological Protein Electrophoresis).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies in accordance with SOPs, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; refer to EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate from a recognized nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the responsible state: LPN or LVN
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy (in-state licensure)
- Fulfill FDA-approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience

CompensationU.S. Hourly Wage Range: $23.04 - $31.68. The actual wage depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, licenses, and location in accordance with state/local minimum wage requirements. Eligible for short-term incentives and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, and well-being benefits.
