Job Description
We are looking for a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support daily plasma donation center operations at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The role focuses on ensuring donor eligibility, managing adverse events, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility for plasma donation.
- Obtain and document informed consent, conduct medical history interview, and perform physical examination and blood testing.
- Review laboratory results including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Manage donor adverse events and coordinate medical emergency SOPs, including standing orders and transport to emergency care.
- Collaborate with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation or referral to occupational health.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- Provide center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance.
- High school diploma or recognized nursing program graduate with state requirements; equivalent education acceptable.
- Currently licensed as LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfil state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Location:
USA – IA – Cedar Falls. Hourly wage range $23.04 – $31.68, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
