Bio Life Plasma Services – Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The role is responsible for ensuring donor eligibility, safety, and supporting the daily operations of a plasma donation center.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs; coordinate emergency care and follow standing orders.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health/ER.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
- Provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) and work under guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- State licensure or certification in the state of assignment (EMT‑Paramedic, nursing, or other relevant credential).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Completeness of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Basic IV therapy skills required in the state of licensure.
Hourly wage range: $23.04–$31.68. Eligible for a $5,000 sign‑on bonus. Eligible for up to 80 hours of sick time and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
