Turn Retail Strategy Into Lottery GrowthSchafer Retail Solutions + is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Lottery Business Development & Retail Partnerships Manager to drive growth across state lottery accounts and corporate retail partnerships.
This is a unique opportunity for a relationship-driven sales professional who understands how lotteries, retailers, merchandising and the customer experience come together to drive sales. You'll work directly with state lottery organizations while building relationships with corporate retailers, chain accounts and multi-location operators that serve as critical lottery sales channels.
What You’ll DoAs the Lottery Business Development & Retail Partnerships Manager, you’ll develop strategic relationships, grow existing business and uncover new opportunities while helping lottery and retail partners improve product visibility, retailer engagement and sales performance.
Additional Duties andResponsibilities Include:
- Develop and strengthen relationships with state lotteries, including sales and marketing teams, retail managers and key stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted business partner by understanding client strategies, retail goals and sales challenges.
- Identify opportunities to expand merchandising programs within existing lottery accounts.
- Conduct account reviews and develop strategies to increase lottery sales, retailer engagement and product visibility.
- Build relationships with corporate retailers, convenience store chains, grocery retailers, fuel operators and other multi-location retail partners.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans for large retail organizations.
- Navigate complex corporate organizations and build relationships with executives, operations teams, category managers and field personnel.
- Drive revenue growth within existing accounts while actively developing new business opportunities.
- Maintain and develop a healthy sales pipeline.
- Research market trends, customer needs, retail developments and competitive activity.
- Develop compelling business cases, presentations and recommendations demonstrating the value of Schafer merchandising solutions.
- Collaborate with lottery and retail partners to pilot new products, concepts and retail programs.
- Provide consultative recommendations on lottery destination areas, in-store merchandising, retail network optimization, product visibility and customer engagement.
- Represent Schafer Retail Solutions + at client meetings, lottery conferences, trade shows and industry events.
- Partner internally with Product Development, Marketing, Manufacturing, Customer Service and Leadership to deliver successful customer solutions.
- Support revenue forecasting, budgeting and strategic account planning.
- Other duties as required.
We’re looking for someone who combines business development experience, strategic thinking and exceptional relationship-building skills with a strong understanding of retail environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Retail Management, Communications or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lottery sales, account management, business development, retail sales, corporate account management or merchandising solutions.
- Proven success managing customer relationships and achieving sales growth objectives.
- Strong understanding of retail environments and how merchandising influences customer engagement and sales.
- Experience in presenting solutions and developing business cases for executive and senior-level decision-makers.
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
- Ability and willingness to travel at least 50% throughout the United States, Canada and/or Europe for client meetings, site visits, trade shows and industry conferences.
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility as required by federal law.
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
