Glass installer

Role Description This full-time, on-site Glass Installer role is located in Hiawatha or Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Glass Installer will measure, cut, and install glass for windows, doors, and other structures, ensuring accurate fit, secure installation, and a clean finish. Daily responsibilities include preparing work areas, handling and transporting glass safely, using appropriate tools and hardware, and performing repairs or replacements for residential, commercial, and vehicle glass as needed.

The role also involves communicating with customers about service needs, explaining installation processes, and maintaining detailed records of work performed. The Glass Installer will collaborate with team members, follow safety guidelines and company procedures, and support a professional and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in window glass installation, including measuring, cutting, and fitting window units.
• Experience with glazing techniques, sealants, and finishing methods to ensure durable and weather-tight installations.
• Ability to install and repair glass in doors, including entry doors, patio doors, and interior door systems.
• Experience with auto glass installation or replacement, including windshields and other vehicle glass components.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, answer questions, and represent the company professionally.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools used in glass installation and basic carpentry or construction practices.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, diagrams, and measurements with high attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety practices, including proper lifting, handling of materials, and use of personal protective equipment.
• Reliable transportation to the worksite and ability to work full-time hours on-site in Cedar Rapids, IA.
• Previous experience in glass installation, construction, or a related trade is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
