Simple Mining is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to support the electrical infrastructure that powers our growing data center operations across multiple Iowa locations.

This is a hands-on position responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving commercial and industrial electrical systems that support mission-critical facilities. The ideal candidate is a licensed electrician (or has equivalent industrial electrical experience) who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking ownership of electrical projects from start to finish.

While the primary focus of this role is electrical work, the position also supports facility infrastructure improvements and preventive maintenance to ensure our operations remain reliable, safe, and efficient.

Facilities Electrical Technician

While the primary focus of this role is electrical work, the position also supports facility infrastructure improvements and preventive maintenance to ensure our operations remain reliable, safe, and efficient.

What You ll Be Doing

Electrical Systems & Infrastructure
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial electrical systems.
  • Diagnose electrical issues involving three-phase power distribution, switch gear, panels, transformers, disconnects, breakers, motors, and VFDs.
  • Install new electrical circuits, conduit, cable tray, wiring, and electrical equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Perform electrical testing using multimeters, megohm testers, clamp meters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Support electrical upgrades, expansions, and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Coordinate electrical work with utility providers, contractors, inspectors, and vendors.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable NEC, OSHA, and local electrical codes.
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify wear, safety concerns, or potential failures before they impact operations.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, repairs, and completed work.
  • Assist in developing maintenance procedures and equipment standards.
  • Support emergency troubleshooting and rapid restoration of electrical systems when needed.
Facility Support
  • Assist with facility infrastructure improvements beyond electrical systems as needed.
  • Support HVAC equipment, lighting systems, ventilation, exhaust fans, and general building infrastructure.
  • Respond to maintenance requests across multiple company facilities.
  • Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and facility expansion projects.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and company safety procedures.
  • Utilize proper PPE and maintain a safety-first approach to all work.
