Body Shop Prepper

Cox Automotive is seeking a Body Shop Prepper to support our high-volume automotive operations in the Telecommunications & Media-driven mobility space. In this role, you'll prepare vehicle bodies and parts for paint by sanding, masking, cleaning, and performing minor repairs to ensure flawless finishes. You'll work closely with painters and body technicians, following repair orders and quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle bodies for paint by sanding, masking, and cleaning surfaces
• Perform minor body repairs, filler work, and surface defect correction
• Use hand and power tools safely to prep panels and parts
• Follow repair orders, work instructions, and quality standards
• Inspect work for proper surface prep and paint readiness
• Maintain clean, organized work area and equipment
• Collaborate with painters and body technicians to meet production timelines
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and PPE requirements
• Document work performed in shop or digital systems
• Support continuous improvement of shop processes and standards
