Art / Design Teacher
Music & Arts, a leading national music retailer and lesson provider, is seeking a Woodwinds Teacher to join our in-store lesson studio. In this role, you will teach private and small-group lessons on flute, clarinet, saxophone, and related woodwinds to students of all ages, with a strong focus on beginning and intermediate players. You'll create engaging lesson plans, track progress, and help students prepare for school concerts, auditions, and recitals.
Working in a collaborative, student-focused environment, you'll partner with store staff, parents, and school directors to support music education in the community while promoting lessons, instruments, and accessories. This position offers the opportunity to grow your teaching studio within a mission-driven retail and education setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide private and small-group woodwind lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
- Develop individualized lesson plans focused on tone, technique, reading, and musicianship
- Assess student progress and communicate regularly with students and parents
- Prepare students for school performances, auditions, and recitals
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging studio environment
- Collaborate with store staff to support lesson enrollment and student retention
- Recommend appropriate instruments, accessories, and instructional materials
- Use Music & Arts systems to manage schedules, attendance, and student records
- Align teaching with local school band and orchestra curriculum when applicable
- Participate in recitals, events, and community outreach to promote music education
