Hiring Incentive: $7,500 for Certified Firefighter/Paramedic or $5,000 for Paramedic Only!
The Cedar Hill Fire Department is dedicated to providing excellent service to our community and making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. We know that through our interventions we are enhancing and changing our community, One life at a time. We are an all hazards Fire Department. We proudly provide services in Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services (Advanced Life Support), Rescue Services, Fire Prevention, Public Education, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Disaster Mitigation.
The Fire Department provides these services through our 4 fire stations and fire administration. We have 78 personnel ready to serve and take pride in our service delivery. Are you ready to join our team?
Salary Structure:
- Lateral entry and hiring incentive available (restrictions apply).
- Firefighter/Paramedic salary range: $76,920 - $96,677/yr + FLSA and Cert Pay
- Recruit: $69,707 - $74,679/yr
- Additional pay available for advanced certifications and education!
- TMRS Retirement Plan (Employee contributes 7% pre-tax, City provides 2 to 1 matching, vesting after 5 years, with option of retirement, at any age, with 20 years of service).
- Voluntary Deferred Compensation Plans available through Mission Square and Nationwide.
Hiring Process:

- Final Chief's Interview
- Anticipated hire date for new hires:

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Candidates must be at least 19 years of age.
- Candidates must possess a valid driver's license. Candidates that do not possess a Class B Texas license must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Class B license.
- To be eligible for this application process, candidates must meet one of the following: TCFP Certified Basic Structural
- Firefighter with TxDSHS Paramedic certification
- TxDSHS Paramedic certification only
