Saw Operator

Job Summary

Cutting inventory using a saw machine as specified according to work orders and by directive of supervisor.

Stand or Sit (Stationary position), Walk (Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (Ascend/Descend, Work atop, Traverse), Stoop, kneel, crouch, or Crawl (Position self, Move), Talk/hear (Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess), Pushing or Pulling, Reaching, Repetitive Motion.

Medium/Heavy Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally or frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

• Responsible for operating a saw machine to cut steel material.
• Display the ability to accurately use basic measuring devices, including tape measure and micrometers.
• Display the ability to use manual hand tools, including wrenches and clamps.
• Log and tag inventory received according to specified procedure.
• Assemble customer orders according to work orders.
• Record pertinent material information to work orders, material, or other forms as specified by management.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Works and coordinates with multiple areas of warehouse, and coworkers to complete tasks.
• Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Safety sensitive for his/her own safety and/or of others safety.
• Demonstrated initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks.
• Enthusiastic team player with a motivating positive attitude.
• Committed to a workplace of culture and respect.
• Dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality.
• May need to work overtime and weekends as assigned (depending on business need).
• Performance of other Warehouse or other tasks as required by the absence of a department member or due to the existence of a backlog of work.

Special projects as specified by management.

Minimum 2-3 years industrial materials handling.

Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write English.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
