Saw Operator

Job Summary

Cutting inventory using a saw machine as specified according to work orders and by directive of supervisor.

Stand or sit (stationary position), walk (move, traverse), use hand/fingers to handle or feel (operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, position), climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (ascend/descend, work atop, traverse), stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (position self to move), talk/hear (communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, exchange information), see (detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, assess), pushing or pulling, reaching, repetitive motion.

Medium/Heavy work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Responsible for operating a saw machine to cut steel material.
• Display the ability to accurately use basic measuring devices, including tape measure and micrometers.
• Display the ability to use manual hand tools, including wrenches and clamps.
• Log and tag inventory received according to specified procedure.
• Assemble customer orders according to work orders.
• Record pertinent material information to work orders, material, or other forms as specified by management.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Works and coordinates with multiple areas of warehouse, and coworkers to complete tasks.
• Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Safety sensitive for his/her own safety and/or of others safety.
• Demonstrated initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks.
• Enthusiastic team player with a motivating positive attitude.

• Dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality.
• May need to work overtime and weekends as assigned (depending on business need).
• Performance of other warehouse tasks as required by the absence of a department member or due to the existence of a backlog of work.

Special projects as specified by management.

Minimum 2-3 years industrial materials handling.

Must have effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write English.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
