Burner Operator

Job Summary

Machine Operator with experience operating and maintaining Voortman machinery to cut, burn and/or drill structural steel components including beams, angles, tubing and channels for fabrication and processing.

Stand or sit; walk; use hand/fingers to handle or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk/hear; see; pushing or pulling; reaching; repetitive motion.

Medium/Heavy work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on Voortman equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure precise cutting and drilling as required.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines, schedules and deadlines.
• Troubleshoot and rectify operational issues with Voortman machinery in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Proven experience operating machinery or similar CNC Equipment.
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and techniques.
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in the steel service center industry.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and familiarity with machine control software.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills and abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a TEAM environment.
