Job
Responsibilities- Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe components.
- Application and removal of sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
- Maintenance, cleaning and repair of shop facilities, equipment and tooling when required.
- Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions.
- Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
- Any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Airframe and Powerplant License is not required, but welcome. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of sheet metal or fabrication processes (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing and dimpling).
- Journeyman: 0‑5 years of experience as sheet metal technician.
- Master: 5+ years’ experience as a sheet metal technician.
Team players who are self‑motivated and able to perform in a fast‑paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
Attendance, overtime availability, reliable transportation, compliance with FAA guidelines, safety rules, and customer‑oriented work habits.
Physical Requirements- Lift 50 lbs.
- Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting.
- Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
- Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
- Work with others in a professional manner.
Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader. Work is performed in controlled environments in industrial warehouses. Multiple departments:
Teardown/Evaluation, Nacelle and heavy structural repairs, light structures repair on components.
- Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
