MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Diagnostic Team Assistant provides administrative and family-support services to a multidisciplinary team that evaluates preschool-aged students. This position helps ensure that the evaluation process is organized, timely, and family-friendly by coordinating communication, collecting required documentation, scheduling appointments and meetings, and supporting the diagnostic team with day-to-day administrative needs.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with families, educators, and professional staff.
REQUIREMENTS:A) Education level – 2 yrs. of college (60 credit hours), Associates Degree or High School Diploma with taking Para Pro and passing with score of at least 460 per the Indiana Dept. of Ed within 3 weeks of employment.
B) Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, uses a two-person lift, or other appropriate techniques or equipment when lifting students or heavier objects
C) Demonstrate ability to follow directions
D) Collaboratively assist with Diagnostician team and support preschoolers and families
E) Demonstrate ability to be flexible when working in the educational environments
F) Must be able to read and speak English
G) Regular attendance and punctuality required
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Follow school district calendar and hours per day as assigned. All other working terms and conditions of employment are established by the Board of Managers.
This position is for 10 hours a week.
1. Perform all duties of the paraprofessional functions as required by the NISEC including:
- Serve as a primary administrative point of contact for families throughout the evaluation process.
- Communicate with families by phone, email, and other appropriate methods to provide information, answer routine questions, and assist with next steps.
- Collect, organize, and track documents and forms required for preschool student evaluations.
- Follow up with families regarding missing or incomplete paperwork and documentation.
- Schedule evaluation appointments, parent meetings, team meetings, and other related appointments.
- Coordinate calendars and schedules among families and members of the diagnostic team.
- Send appointment confirmations, reminders, and relevant information to families.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Managers policy on evaluation of confidential personnel.
