Dishwasher Summary of Position:

Responsible for general kitchen and dish room duties for the restaurant.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Report to your shift on time, in a clean and presentable uniform, ready to work, and clock in.
  • Complete opening and closing duties in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of the full menu and other restaurant information such as hours of business, types of payment, and other restaurant policies.
  • Answer the telephone as needed in a professional manner and be able to answer any customer inquiries regarding the restaurant or place the caller on hold.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness of the dish area, kitchen, kitchen equipment, stock rooms, rear entrance, and the exterior of the restaurant/grounds.
  • Properly clear/scrape all dishes, utensils, and glasses to load into the dishwasher.
  • Manually clean all large pots and pans in sinks and clean sinks at the end of each shift.
  • Place clean glasses, dishes, utensils, and pots in proper drying locations.
  • Return all supplies to the appropriate areas of the restaurant and stock supplies as needed.
  • Maintain clean surface areas of the dish room, including countertops, walls, mats, floors, and ceilings.
  • Remove garbage and grease from the dish room area and dispose of them in appropriate areas.
  • Sweep and mop the dish room area at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain cleaning supply inventory and obtain additional supplies as needed.
  • Able to lead and direct the work of others within the department.
  • Communicate customer, order, and/or employee difficulties to management.
  • Communicate any health and/or safety concerns or violations immediately to management.
  • Conform to restaurant policies and procedures at all times.
  • Be capable of going outside the general responsibilities of the department to ensure proper customer service.
  • Attend all scheduled/mandatory meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
  • No previous restaurant experience required.
  • Must be an honest, dependable, and reliable individual with a high level of integrity, who possesses a clear understanding of teamwork, with a high level of energy and sense of urgency.
  • Must have the highest level of customer service skills, while being able to multi-task and adapt to the changing restaurant environment.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess and maintain valid required State BASSET and Food Handler’s certification.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time, as well as maneuver throughout the entire restaurant easily (up to 5 hours) in hot conditions.
  • Able to lift and carry items up to 100 pounds.
