About This RoleNorthwest Spanish School is seeking a passionate and energetic professional to join our team as an Assistant Teacher in our Preschool.

This is a part-time position.
What You'll Do- Complete a minimum of 30 hours of child-care-related training specific to the age of children in their care every year.
- Complete a CPR and First Aid training every 2 years
- Attend Meetings and School Events
- Arrive and leave at the scheduled hours
- Understand and comply with all policies and procedures described in the Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers, NWSS Operation Policies and Discipline Policies, and the Texas Rising Star program.
- Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and when performing assigned responsibilities.
- Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience.
Practice responsive care. - Provide care that is consistent with the child’s habits, strengths, and any special needs.
- Perform various tasks required when dealing with young students, including but not limited to diapering and cleaning.
- Ensure a safe and risk-free environment.
- Use technology to communicate with parents and school management, or for educational purposes.
- Collaborate with coworkers and deal with ambiguity.
- Communicate in both English and Spanish with parents, students, and other employees.
- Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families, and their cultures.
- High School Diploma and experience, educational or working, in the field, OR
- Bachelor's Degree in the field of Education or in an unrelated field
- Experience working with children
- Spanish language speaker
- Background check
- Physically able to sit on the floor for short periods of time and carry up to 25 pounds
