Position Summary
The Senior Transmission Line Engineer is a technical leader responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing complex transmission line projects while serving as a subject matter expert for the Cooperative. This role provides engineering direction, develops standards and specifications, leads large capital projects, and represents the organization in regulatory and regional transmission planning processes. The position also mentors engineering staff, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with applicable codes and requirements.
JobFunction
- Prepare technical specifications and analyze data to establish appropriate design limits and variables.
- Develop and review transmission line drawings, specifications, and topographic maps.
- Utilize computer-aided engineering and design software to perform analyses.
- Collaborate with engineers, consultants, developers, and government entities.
- Direct construction, installation, maintenance, and project management activities.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations for construction standards.
- Manage and oversee large transmission line projects.
- Support CCN and RTP regulatory processes.
- Conduct transmission planning studies.
- Prepare engineering drawings, maps, and construction specifications.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of ten years of relevant transmission line engineering experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of transmission line materials and construction.
- Experience with CCN and RTP processes.
- Ability to read and interpret transmission construction drawings.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
