Shermco Industries is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Industrial Facilities Design/Project Engineer.

Electrical Engineer

Seeking a candidate that lives in Austin. Work to be performed from local office. Candidate must expect to travel to local customer sites routinely. Out of town travel is occasional.

Engineering Analysis:

Perform short-circuit studies, protective device coordination, and arc-flash analysis to ensure system safety and reliability
• Develop detailed Construction documents, specifications,
• Prefabricated power system experience
• Operating procedures, equipment operating supervision, Method of Procedure, sequence of operations

Electrical Distribution Design:

• Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including motor control centers (MCCs), switch gear, breakers, fuses, transformers, capacitor banks, current and potential transformers, protective relays, and control systems.
• Create, review, and revise complete electrical drawing packages and specifications.

System Troubleshooting & Solutions:

• Diagnose electrical system issues and develop effective, practical solutions to resolve system deficiencies.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years relevant experience; prefer educational focus in Power Systems.
• Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies PREFFERED.
• SKM, ETAP, power system modeling software PREFFERED.
• Must have knowledge of low voltage applications.
• Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable doing so directly to customers and co-workers.
• Field experience with industrial distribution and utilization equipment, UPS's, generators, switch gear.
• Utility design experience a plus.
• Availability for occasional domestic and international travel a plus.
• Experience producing commissioning scripts, technical reports, switching procedures, equipment operation procedures, specifications, and scopes of work.
