As a Materials Manager for the Alpha Program, you will be a critical pillar of the Firefly Supply Chain Team. Step up, contribute meaningfully, and shape the future with us.
Responsibilities- Monitoring stock levels, establishing reorder points, and conducting regular audits of material and consumption to ensure data accuracy.
- Coordinating with manufacturing teams to forecast material needs based on production schedules and fallout risk.
- Supporting program budget management, analyzing material cost variances and identifying cost‑saving initiatives such as waste reduction.
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure material availability dates meet current and future business needs.
- Identifying and managing material order points based on purchasing lead time, program BOM requirements, projected factory consumption, historical production fall‑out rates, exception events, and master schedule updates.
- Driving internal communication through collaboration with Firefly stakeholders including Program Management, M&P, Quality, Engineering, Production, Inventory Control, and other functional areas.
- Managing material risks, including regular assessments and identification of issues and mitigation strategies.
- Driving continuous improvement in on‑time material availability, quality, and cost.
- Facilitating regular business reviews with key suppliers to discuss performance metrics, future opportunities, and challenges.
- Supporting TCO cost‑saving efforts for the assigned commodity group.
- Driving schedule recovery and corrective action in support of program and production goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong affinity for networking and building lasting relationships with internal and external partners.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a similar role with a focus on supplier management.
- Deep knowledge and history of procurement, operations, and inventory control.
- Strong negotiation and contract‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Knowledge of ERP software and tools.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in raw metallics, along with machining, forming, and finishing of metallic components.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Odoo ERP/MRP knowledge.
- ITAR experience.
- Aerospace industry experience as an OEM, supplier, contractor, or subcontractor.
- Experience in an R&D‑focused environment, prototyping and test environment a plus.
- AS9100 experience.
- General aerospace experience.
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
