As a key member of our cross-functional team, you'll drive process excellence, focusing on assembly operations. Your role is critical to ensuring robust performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. We seek a candidate with a relentless drive for improvement and expertise in problem-solving. Work is performed on site.
Join the NOV team as a Manufacturing Engineer, leading process development and improvement for innovative electrical and mechanical systems in our Cedar Park facility.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated competence in improving fabrication and assembly of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proven track record in systematic problem-solving.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, with 2+ years working directly with production equipment and maintenance.
- Experience in implementing Lean thinking and tools, and in design and application of precision production tooling.
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining production routers and work instructions.
- Strong project management skills for problem-solving and project execution.
- Proficiency in CAD, Solidworks preferred.
- Proficiency with MRP systems such as JDE or Oracle preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically to NOV offices and customer locations.
- Commitment to observing safety regulations and attending safety training.
- Lead process development and improvement, ensuring robust performance in SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost).
- Collaborate with area leadership to define, stabilize, and improve existing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis, experimentation, and implement mitigations for process issues.
- Apply Lean thinking and tools to reduce waste and enhance value flow in the shop.
- Provide 'second responder' support to resolve complex technical process challenges.
- Evaluate innovative manufacturing process technologies and manage their implementation.
- Work closely with product engineering to evaluate and enhance product designs for manufacturability.
- Design and implement processes for new product introductions, including tooling and instructions.
- Ensure timely execution of new process qualification plans.
- Support customer-facing issues and safety concerns.
