New Hope Manor -

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and compassionate Activities Director to join our team! We are looking for candidate who is passionate about enriching the lives of seniors by planning, organizing, implementing engaging recreational and therapeutic programs that meet the unique interests, abilities, and needs of our residents. This role works closely with nursing, therapy, social services, and families to create meaningful experiences that promote independence and socialization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop monthly and daily activity calendars.

  • Conduct activity assessments for new admissions and update care plans.

  • Lead individual and group activities such as:
    Arts and crafts, Exercise classes, Music therapy, Games and bingo, Holiday celebrations, Religious and spiritual services, Community outings

  • Modify activities for residents with dementia or physical limitations.

  • Supervise Activity Assistants and volunteers.

  • Maintain documentation required by CMS and state regulations.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings.

  • Order supplies and manage the department budget.

  • Coordinate entertainers, community groups, and special events.

  • Ensure resident participation is documented and care plans are updated.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Experience in long-term care, senior living, or recreation

  • Activities Director Certification (ADC), NCCAP certification or willing to complete course within an acceptable time frame.

  • Knowledge of CMS regulations and resident rights

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
