Critical care requires strong clinical collaboration, consistent support, and workflows designed for high-acuity patient care. At USACS, APPs work side by side with Physicians in team-based environments structured to support autonomy, clinical growth, and sustainable long-term careers. We’re adding a Critical Care Nocturnist APP (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to our team at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin in Austin, Texas.

Practice Highlights:

  • Critical Care and Inpatient Pulmonary program
  • 24 hours Physician coverage with 24 hours APP coverage
  • MICU Daily Volume: 55
  • Inpatient Consult Service Volume: 15
  • CVICU Daily Volume: 3
  • Pulmonary & Critical Care Fellowship program
  • ECMO Center
  • Pulmonary Hypertension Center
  • Partnership with Ascension Medical Group pulmonary subspecialty clinics

What your practice will look like:

You’ll work collaboratively alongside experienced Critical Care Physicians and APPs in a high-acuity ICU environment focused on evidence-based patient care and team-based clinical decision-making. APPs are fully integrated into the care model and supported through structured physician collaboration, operational resources, and strong local and national APP leadership.

Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin is the largest medical/surgical acute care center in Austin and one of four Magnet hospitals within the Seton Healthcare Family. The hospital offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services along with advanced specialty programs including cardiovascular care, transplant services, cancer programs, and regional neonatal care.

Requirements:

  • Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certification
  • Critical Care experience preferred
