Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Heart Hospital of Austin, a leader in cardiovascular care as part of St. David's Health Care, seeks a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to enhance our specialized medical team. This critical role involves using advanced radioactive drugs and scanning technology to create detailed images of the human body, helping physicians diagnose and treat cardiac and other conditions. The technologist will be instrumental in providing patient-centered care in a high-tech environment, adhering to strict safety protocols to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases using radioisotope equipment.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines to ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Process data and enhance digital images using advanced computer technology.
• Provide detailed oral or written explanations to patients, families, or professionals about procedures.
• Maintain and operate imaging equipment, troubleshoot problems, and perform routine maintenance.
• Record and maintain patient's records and radioactive drug inventory with accuracy.
