Position: IT Project Manager - Hybrid (Austin, TX)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated IT Project Manager to join our IT department to lead the delivery of critical Information Security and Infrastructure projects, and other key initiatives in a dynamic, evolving environment. The successful candidate will manage planning, execution, and delivery of initiatives that enhance our technology foundation and security posture. This role requires strong project management, organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to quickly learn and implement innovative technologies and processes.

You Will Be Doing

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Deliver Projects Successfully:
    Manage projects of varying sizes and complexities to meet business goals and objectives.
  • Requirements Management:
    Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to define and manage project requirements, ensuring alignment with expectations.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

    Partner with project team members, providing support and guidance as needed. Collaborate effectively as a team player in high-pressure, dynamic environments.
  • System Requirements Management:
    Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure system requirements are captured, validated, and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Architecture & Integration Oversight:
    Oversee system architecture development, interface management, and integration activities to ensure seamless implementation and alignment with project objectives.
  • Scope & Goal Definition:
    Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Resource & Timeline Management:
    Direct and coordinate project personnel, optimize resource allocation, and manage timelines and budgets efficiently.
  • Budget Management:
    Create, manage, and monitor project budgets with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Status Reporting:
    Prepare and share comprehensive project status reports, keeping stakeholders informed about progress, issues, and risks. Set and manage expectations effectively.
  • Risk Management:

    Identify, assess, and proactively manage risks, dependencies, changes, and obstacles to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Ensure project deliverables meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Methodology Compliance:
    Adhere to and promote organizational project management standards and best practices.
  • Agile Practices:
    Apply Agile principles and practices where appropriate to drive adaptability and continuous improvement.
  • Transition & Support:
    Propose support models for delivered solutions and facilitate smooth transition to support teams, including documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Attention to Detail:
    Maintain precision and accuracy in all project activities, backed by strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Decision-Making:
    Use experience and judgment to make informed decisions that contribute to project success.
  • Ownership & Independence:
    Demonstrate self-motivation and accountability, working effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Change Management:
    Apply change management principles to ensure successful integration of project outcomes into operations and culture.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management:
    Oversee engagement with external contractors, including managing Statements of Work (SOW), contracts, and deliverables as part of assigned projects.
What Is Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of delivering technology projects successfully.
  • Hands-on experience managing Information Security and Infrastructure initiatives, such as network upgrades, security tool implementations, and system hardening or similar work.
  • Experience driving projects that integrate hardware, software, and system-level solutions.
  • Experience using Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), for delivering IT projects.
  • Hybrid or traditional project management approaches (Waterfall).
  • Experience delivering technology solutions, including infrastructure deployments and security enhancements.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical teams and understand core IT concepts (networking, cybersecurity, cloud environments).
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, and SharePoint.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
  • Effective communication with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaboration in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent.
  • Exposure to PCI assessments and managing audits.
