Operations Management, Program / Project Manager
You inspect a location and immediately identify what's wrong — the unsecured ceiling panel that wasn't documented, the HVAC unit that's been making noise for days, the grounds crew that completed only part of their scope yet submitted a full invoice. You don't wait for complaints to arrive. You resolve issues before they become visible.
This instinct defines the position. 2 Hour Learning runs high-end K–12 facilities where families expect an environment that remains safe, reliable, and presentation-ready every day — not merely when events are scheduled. You'll maintain that expectation throughout Central Texas: anchored at the Austin campus, with consistent travel to schools region wide. Your efforts determine whether a facility sustains its premium character or quietly deteriorates between leadership visits.
Year one emphasizes establishing standards and restructuring vendor relationships — defining operational readiness, implementing audit protocols, transitioning away from underperforming contractors, and aligning Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists around repeatable processes. As the network expands and your systems mature, the role evolves into sustained regional oversight: you become the operational authority the organization relies on during campus launches, critical incidents, or when standards require revision.
This position is field-based. If dashboard management appeals to you, look elsewhere. If you want direct accountability for ensuring 25+ campuses maintain premium standards daily — with the authority to deliver that outcome — continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing- Executing scheduled on-site evaluations across Central Texas locations using documented benchmarks for cleanliness, HVAC performance, safety protocols, security systems, signage, grounds maintenance, furniture condition, and presentation readiness — then ensuring corrective actions are validated as complete
- Responding to facility incidents and urgent situations, coordinating contractor response, and confirming resolution before closing work orders (critical issues within 24 hours, standard requests within one week)
- Overseeing contractor compliance with service agreements, removing vendors with repeated failures, renegotiating contract terms, and conducting direct accountability discussions regarding quality and expenditure
- Establishing a consistent weekly operating cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure campuses function through standardized procedures rather than individual effort
- Overseeing significant campus improvement projects (HVAC system updates, interior redesigns, landscaping enhancements, AV and network installations) within timeline and budget parameters while minimizing student impact
- Documenting enterprise-wide operational standards and AI-enhanced procurement frameworks (utilizing ticketing platforms, IoT-based predictive maintenance systems, and consolidated sourcing) to ensure uniform campus launches and operations
- Delivering clear weekly written updates covering regional quality metrics, contractor performance, escalated issues, and capital expenditure tracking
- Operating remotely from reports alone — this position demands regular on-site presence in Austin and 20–40% travel throughout Central Texas facilities
- Leading new campus design or managing ground-up construction projects — capital development responsibilities reside with a separate function
- Establishing enterprise procurement policy disconnected from operational reality — your standards emerge from direct site observation
- Working within established organizational hierarchies with formal authority over all relevant personnel — you'll create accountability through documentation, written follow-through, and rejection of ambiguous vendor commitments
- Tolerating "presentation-ready only during leadership visits" as acceptable — persistent problems are investigated for root causes, not simply re-reported
- Operating primarily in reactive crisis mode — the audit schedule and predictive maintenance tools enable you to identify failures before they generate complaints
