Job Summary and QualificationsThe Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) Clinic ’s South Austin Medical Center treats adults facing blood cancer and hematologic disorders in the Central Texas region in the outpatient setting. In partnership with Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare, we are proud to be the only FACT accredited facility in Austin, Texas.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the TCT Clinic you will be responsible for the care of blood and marrow transplant patients, patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders. Common diagnoses seen include acute leukemia, non‑Hodgkin’s lymphoma and multiple myeloma.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will utilize nursing processes to direct and deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients.
- You will consider age-related factors in the assessment, care, and treatment of the oncology patient.
- You will consider principles of death and dying when caring for terminally ill oncology patients.
- You will provide emotional, spiritual, religious and cultural support to patients and their significant others.
- You will apply principles of oncology nursing.
What qualifications you will need:
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider – preferred.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification – preferred.
