PreOp​/PACU​/Circulator

USPI Hill Country Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Pre Op/PACU/Circulator to join our team. The center has 1 OR room and 3 procedure rooms, performing outpatient gastroenterology surgeries. The position requires weekdays only—no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

• Assess patient status and verify accurate wristband identification
• Ensure operative and informed consents are in order
• Determine the surgeon and procedure being carried out
• Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
• Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about the procedure and attending medical staff

• Assess patients’ condition after surgery has been performed
• Ensure that all vitals are within normal range
• Log all findings in patients’ files
• Answer patients’ questions and ensure that they are kept comfortable
  
  Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the doctor
• Initiate patient education programs to educate patients and families on procedures and medications
• Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies

• Assist with equipment
• Serve as a patient advocate and ensure patient safety at all times
• Assist with positioning the patient
• Monitor the patient’s condition throughout the entire surgical process and act quickly to respond to any changes
• Maintain the sterile field at all times
• Exhibit skillful clinical judgment and assessment skills

• Current Texas Nursing License
• Current CPR, ACLS, and BLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 2-year experience in a hospital setting or ASC setting
• Experience in any perioperative setting is appreciated but not required in all areas as cross-training is available
