City Vet Brushy Creek is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team!

We’re a busy fear free minded clinic that combines urgent care and general practice, so no two days look exactly the same. We see cats, dogs, and small mammals, and we’re looking for someone who is confident in their skills, works well as part of a team, and genuinely cares about providing great patient and client care.

Must have a minimum of 1 year of veterinary experience and surgery experience.

• Assist veterinarians with appointments, procedures, surgery, anesthesia, and patient care
• Prepare patients for surgery, administer anesthesia, take radiographs, and collect laboratory samples
• Monitor patients during and after procedures
• Safely restrain animals for examinations and procedures
• Collect blood, urine, fecal, and other samples for testing
• Perform in-house laboratory testing
• Administer medications, vaccines, anesthesia, and other treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Communicate with clients regarding medical history, treatment plans, medications, and home care
• Help keep communication flowing between the treatment area, doctors, and front desk
• Assist the Client Service team when needed
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area

• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience including surgery trained
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Comfortable and knowledgeable with safe animal restraint
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and medications
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
• Team-oriented with a willingness to jump in wherever needed
• Ability to lift 50 lbs to waist height
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, walk, lift, carry, and reach
