We are seeking a Quality Inspector with strong mechanical tool inspection knowledge to inspect machined parts at our Cedar Park, TX manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of inspection and quality‑control operations, including visual, dimensional, and functional inspections, making critical observations, performing tests, and completing appropriate documentation. Work is performed on day shift onsite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on components.
  • Perform source inspections at facilities.
  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
  • Review inspection records received for compliance.
  • Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Prepare and coordinate Non‑Conformance Reports (NCR’s) for nonconforming parts.
  • Perform other work‑related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Facility Responsibilities
  • Perform in‑process, final, and receiving inspection, and work with inspectors and manufacturing employees in other inspection areas. Inspections are made against drawings, specifications and/or instructions. Accountable for product and/or final inspection activities required for purchased and manufactured parts, respectively, and processes.
  • Responsible for proper care of all company tools and measuring equipment before, during and after use.
  • Ensure that all gauges are in calibration, clean and free of rust, as well as in good working conditions at all times before use and traceable to/from their assigned storage location.
  • Ensure that all records are kept accurately updated according to established procedures.
  • Identify discrepancies and prepare non‑conformity reports.
  • Observe safety regulations, wear all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately or report them to supervisors.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required).
  • Three years of related experience and/or training (required).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (required).
  • Proficiency with mechanical inspection tools and techniques (required).
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening (required).
  • Able to perform physically demanding work—standing, bending, lifting 25 lbs regularly.
  • Physically fit to perform extended periods of inspection work that may involve sitting, bending, stooping, standing, and repetitive arm, shoulder, and hand movements.
  • Demonstrated good work ethics in attendance, dependability, orderliness, and teamwork.
  • Experience measuring API and/or ACME threads preferred.
  • ASQ certification (inspector) preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Normal manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 lbs.
  • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hard hats.
  • Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
  • Standing 65% of the time.
  • Works under immediate supervision and typically reports to a supervisor/manager.
  • May be exposed to fumes, vapors, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • May be exposed to intermittent loud sounds.
