Merchandise Representative

The Merchandise Representative will be responsible for setting up kiosks, managing the merchandise kiosks and selling merchandise for all events at the Cedar Park Center (Texas Stars Hockey, concerts and family shows). This position requires the staff to have availability during the weekday, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers in a friendly manner and assist them by answering questions about merchandise and fulfilling their merchandise needs
  • Operate cash registers and complete cash and credit transactions
  • Handle cash in a safe, competent, and efficient manner
  • Keep the sales floor clean and orderly at all times
  • Check displays and fixtures regularly during games to ensure the merchandise is well-stocked and inform the manager if items need to be restocked
  • Upsell products by being knowledgeable about special promotions and deals each night and introducing them to customers
  • Delivering sales and providing outstanding operational expectations and customer experience

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or a general education degree is preferred
  • 1+ years of retail sales experience using Point of Sale (POS) software system is preferred
  • Customer Service experience preferred
  • Ability to process information/merchandise through computer/software system and POS register system
  • Ability to communicate with associates and guests
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation and transactions
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area
  • Knowledge of the game of Hockey is preferred

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee is exposed to an arena environment, with noise levels usually moderate, however, during events, the noise level may be loud. The environment is energetic and fast paced with pre and post-gamer rushes of customers. The work areas can become crowded with equipment and/or people.
