Job Overview
TA Hampton Group is seeking an experienced, energetic and results-driven Area Director of Sales to lead sales, revenue and business development efforts at the Hyatt Place Cedar Park and Sleep Inn by Choice hotels. This position is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that maximize room revenue, market share, account management and profitability while maintaining hotel brand standards and TA Hampton Group performance expectations.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, has initiative, relationship-focused, and experienced in select-service hotel sales, with a strong understanding of the Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock / Northeast Austin markets.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve hotel revenue goals
- Drive group, corporate, SMERF, and local negotiated transient businesses
- Actively prospect new accounts through sales outreach, cold calls, networking, and community involvement - Visit Cedar Park, Cedar Park Chamber, GBTA, etc.
- Analyze market trends, competitive set data, and demand patterns.
- Maintain and grow existing accounts while identifying new revenue opportunities
- Conduct site tours, client presentations, and contract negotiations
- Ensure accurate forecasting, booking, and follow-through on all sales commitments
- Maintain up-to-date account information in Hyatt-approved systems
- Work closely with the General Manager, Revenue Management, and Operations teams
- Partner with Hyatt Sales resources (Commercial Services), Choice International and TA Hampton Group onsite and above-property leadership
- Participate in brand initiatives, trade shows, and local industry events
- Ensure smooth execution of group and corporate business
- Supervises and train onsite sales resources including Sales & Event manager, sales coordinator, and event/meeting space in-house colleagues and associates assigned to set-up and turndown.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports and forecasts
- Maintain compliance with Hyatt and Choice brand standards and TA Hampton Group policies
- Track sales activities (events and groups), productivity, and results consistently
- At least 2 years of proven hotel sales experience, preferably in major brand select-service or Hyatt or Choice-branded hotel. Previous role as Group Sales, Business Travel or Sales Coordinator.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Possess own and dependable transportation vehicle, and the ability to travel locally for sales calls and networking events
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets
- Strong knowledge of corporate, group, and local market segments
- Experience with Hyatt systems (preferred) - Envision Sales and Choice systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
