Job Description

As NFM’s Master Service Technician, you will perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment, and work on critical and complex needs of the department. Ensure equipment is 100% operational and safe. Act as a knowledgeable resource for the Service Technicians on all equipment used in NFM facilities.

Job Duties
  • Inspect condition of all conveyors and correct potential problems.
  • Routinely examine condition of all compactors, recycling equipment and resolve potential problems that could cause downtime; maintain, diagnose, repair, and replace as needed.
  • Responsible for overall condition of all the above equipment. Perform and log scheduled preventive maintenance and servicing on all material handling equipment.
  • Provide backup for the manager and handle more complex service problems.
  • Assign job orders and other tasks, ensuring the workload is evenly distributed.
  • Collaborate and utilize the computer‑based asset management system to accurately record all work performed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of experience with repair of material handling equipment.
  • Lead, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
  • Experience with "Crown" manufactured equipment preferred.
  • Must attend relevant manufacturer training modules for current equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of electrical circuits; able to read wire diagrams and schematics.
  • Ability to weld (wire or stick) and use a torch to cut and braze.
  • Knowledge of shop equipment (lathe, mill, drill, tire press, hand tools, power tools, etc).
  • Ability to work night, weekend, and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
  • Valid driver’s license and ongoing acceptable driving record.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Pre‑employment screening includes, but isn’t limited to, a criminal background check.
