Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, Forklift Operator
Job Description
At NOV Cedar Park, Texas, we are looking for a Warehouse Worker to participate in our warehouse operations and activities. Responsibilities include storing materials, picking, packing, and scanning orders. The goal is to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Day shift hours and onsite presence required.
Primary Responsibilities- Assist in Shipping or Receiving when needed.
- Read appropriate warehouse documentation to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed or shipped.
- Move items to appropriate areas.
- Record amounts of materials or items moved into computer database.
- Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Assist with maintaining inventory records by posting materials received and disbursed, writing shortage lists and distributing them as required.
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Responsible for operating the warehouse machinery in a safe manner and reporting any equipment maintenance or problems to your immediate supervisor.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Usual workday length is 8-10 hours, which will consist of standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, twisting, overhead reaching, and lifting a maximum weight of 40 pounds.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic math skills for inventory and order accuracy.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the warehouse location.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or supply chain role.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Certification in forklift or other material‑handling equipment operation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse settings.
- Effective communication skills for team collaboration and problem‑solving.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel‑toed work boots, and hard hats. Employees work under immediate supervision. Potential exposure to fumes, vapors, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Noise level can be loud.
