DW Products is a precision CNC turning shop in Cedar Rapids with more than 70 years of proven performance. We manufacture complex, high-tolerance components using advanced CNC equipment and automation for demanding industries. As we continue to grow, we are strengthening our internal systems and processes to support a high-performing manufacturing operation.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for a rapidly growing manufacturer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and optimizing accounting systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, financial accounting, system implementation, and financial leadership within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform accounting functions, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory accounting.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant standards.
  • Ensure adherence to tax regulations, audit requirements, and internal control policies.
  • Develop and maintain accurate costing models, inventory valuations, and variance analyses.
  • Support a high-mix, precision manufacturing environment with job-level costing and margin analysis, as appropriate.
  • Partner with operations teams to evaluate production costs, material usage, and efficiency metrics.
  • Provide financial analyses that support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Lead or support accounting system enhancements, data cleanup, and process standardization in a growing manufacturing operation.
  • Preparation all union reporting.
  • Maintain and report enrollment in group insurance programs.
  • Prepare and present financial insights to ownership and senior leadership to support operational and strategic decisions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Certification such as CMA is highly desirable.
  • At least five years of progressive finance experience within a manufacturing setting.
  • Expertise in cost accounting, inventory control, and production financial analysis.
  • Experience in leading system implementations or upgrades in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
