Position Overview

We are seeking a Property Tax Leader to oversee compliance across the entire property tax cycle, focusing on quality control, risk mitigation, and strategic initiative development. The role involves people management, system development, and process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the key point of contact for business operations and understand the priorities of corporate, business unit, and functional leadership.
  • Lead the resolution of lessee and customer questions, and address taxing jurisdiction issues related to asset tax coding, property tax charges, and system logic.
  • Drive compliance system development and modification, including PTMS, Epicor, Excel Power Queries, and Power Pivot to ensure optimal team performance.
  • Champion improvements within the function, sponsoring and leading strategic property tax initiatives and software or policy changes.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of property tax processes, continually reviewing and enhancing quality control procedures, identifying risks, and driving resolution.
  • Oversee account reconciliation, resolve discrepancies, and identify potential process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex property tax compliance issues.
  • Provide formal coaching and feedback to team members, communicate challenging work for development opportunities, and recognize individual performance.
  • Track, review, and report team performance metrics to internal leadership.
  • Monitor team resource needs and effectively communicate updates to internal leadership.
  • Deliver outstanding Great America Experience to external and internal customers.
Qualifications
  • Proactive problem‑solving attitude focused on improving processes through a disciplined approach.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand underlying business issues related to taxes.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
  • Seven years or more of directly related property tax experience.
  • Combination of tax technical background and proven leadership ability preferred.
  • Prior leasing industry experience preferred.
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, primarily Word and Excel.
  • Significant experience with property tax software strongly preferred.
