Position: Principal Specialist, Program Cost Controls Scheduler (Onsite)

Principal Program Schedule Analyst

This position is for a Principal Program Schedule Analyst who will interface and work with the Program Management Office, Engineering, and Operations. The analyst will provide guidance and analysis in the areas of Project Management, Budgeting, Scheduling, and Variance Analysis, and will become an integral part of the Program Management Team, providing advice, consultation, and analysis with regard to creation and execution of the program plan.

Responsibilities
  • Support scheduling activities of programs that are relatively low in risk and complexity or part of larger programs.
  • Monitor and report performance against plans to ensure contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met, working closely with the cost analyst.
  • Understand earned value management practices and procedures, scheduling fundamentals and system tool usage such as SAP and Microsoft products.
  • Contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals.
  • Develop solutions to a variety of problems.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and industry scheduling practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Work with senior specialists to prepare, develop and coordinate the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet program objectives.
  • Ensure major projects are integrated across company functional groups including Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, etc.
  • Track plans and schedules, solicit regular updates, identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts.
  • Use milestone charts, earned value management, and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances.
  • Work in parallel with the cost analyst to reconcile cost and schedule, correct mismatched items and address root causes.
  • Contribute ideas for training materials and suggest process or tool enhancements.
  • Provide experience with integrated schedules and logic networks using Microsoft Project software or the ability to learn this tool.
  • Have background with Microsoft Office applications:
    Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Understand and comply with requirements in DI-MGMT-81861C, DCMA Schedule Assessment Guide and Planning and Scheduling Excellence Guide.
  • Abide by company policies and procedures, with special attention to ethics and standards of business conduct.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field with minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with EVMS.
  • Experience with Microsoft products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Program Finance.
  • Experience with Program Scheduling.
