Position Overview

Principal Specialist, Program Finance & Control – Schedule Analyst

Cedar Rapids, IA, United States

Job Type: Onsite – U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person required with a valid DoD Secret clearance.

Salary Range: $86,800 – $165,200 USD.

• Support scheduling activities for low‑risk, low‑complexity programs or portions of larger programs.
• Monitor and report performance against plans to ensure contractual, cost, and schedule objectives are met, working closely with a cost analyst.
• Apply earned value management practices, scheduling fundamentals, and system tool usage (SAP, Microsoft products).
• Contribute to the completion of organizational projects and develop solutions to a variety of problems.
• Work with senior specialists to prepare, develop, and coordinate the integrated master plan and integrated master schedule to meet program objectives.
• Integrate major projects across company functional groups (Finance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, etc.).
• Track plans and schedules, solicit updates, identify and resolve critical‑path and network‑logic conflicts.
• Use milestone charts, earned value management, and other project‑management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances.
• Collaborate with the cost analyst to reconcile cost and schedule, correct mismatched items, and address root causes.
• Develop training materials and suggest enhancements to processes or tools.

• University degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship mandatory).
• Proficient with Microsoft Project (or ability to learn quickly).

• Extensive Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel.
• Experience with SAP.
• Experience with earned‑value concepts.

• Knowledge of DI‑MGMT‑81861A, DCMA Schedule Assessment Guide, and Planning and Scheduling Excellence Guide.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
