Role Overview
The Development Project Manager (Q-Systems: Security) leads and manages Q-Systems Security design, pre‑construction, and construction activities across multiple projects. The role involves daily interaction with installation contractors, design consultants, engineering teams, commissioning agents, vendors, and data center operations staff. Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to represent QTS interests in operational and technical meetings, are essential.
Responsibilities- Manage projects on multiple campuses, overseeing design/implementation budgets, schedules, and status reports.
- Review project designs to ensure compliance with QTS system standards and Basis of Design documents.
- Ensure that system installation meets design specifications and quality criteria.
- Oversee commissioning efforts to confirm systems operate in accordance with QTS standards and design documents.
- Implement and manage multi‑phased site development plans to achieve time, budget, and quality objectives.
- Continuously update campus master plans to reflect dynamic operational needs.
- Evaluate and level pricing proposals for technology design, construction, and commissioning services.
- Monitor and track project schedules, managing teams to achieve on‑time completion.
- Identify and remove schedule or implementation obstacles that hinder project progress.
- Serve as liaison with key QTS stakeholders, representing QTS interests in OAC and low‑voltage meetings.
- Collaborate with internal development teams to enhance project management processes and protocols.
- Build relationships with Facility Operations and Technology teams to understand their needs and support facility operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4–8 years of professional experience in technology systems—security, network infrastructure design, or implementation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time; average travel is every other week for 2–3 days.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Direct experience in the construction of data centers, critical medical, industrial, oil & gas, or large‑scale technology systems.
- Strong knowledge of technology industry standards, procedures, and methodologies.
- Advance knowledge of technology systems and their integration into mission‑critical environments.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical issues to leadership or non‑engineers.
- Project management or project lead experience in large‑scale projects.
- Basic multidisciplinary knowledge of mission‑critical systems, design processes, pre‑construction requirements, and the construction process.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, capable of leading diverse internal and external teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
