Principal Specialist, Program Management - Soldier Communications; Onsite

Overview

RTX Collins Aerospace is a leader in technologically advanced, intelligent solutions for the aerospace and defense industry. This onsite role is based in Cedar Rapids, IA, supporting the Soldier Communications Program Management (PM) team within the Mission Systems Program Support Specialist Department. The position partners with the PM team to support pursuit, order, capture, and execution of existing and future international programs, including obsolescence management, across Collins shared services with collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Contracts, Order Administration, Subcontracts, Quality, Finance, and Services.

Travel is expected at less than 10%.

• Provide key support to multiple international programs with program oversight for Export (documentation, tools, and status).
• Receive minimal instruction on day-to-day work; plan schedules and arrange own activities to accomplish objectives.
• Provide direction and oversight to ensure that issues of moderate scope and complexity are avoided and/or resolved.
• Manage sub-projects that may be of moderate risk and complexity or a portion of a larger project.
• Support pursuit and proposal activities, financial reporting, customer interaction/action item reporting, and customer deliverable coordination.
• Support obsolescence management, risk and opportunity management, and coordination across the core program team.
• Collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Contracts, Order Administration, Subcontracts, Quality, Finance, and Services; interface with external customers as needed.
• Coordinate information flow to ensure all parties have accurate understanding of status and requirements.
• Demonstrate decisiveness, dependability, drive, and a detail-oriented, multitasking approach in program execution.

• Typically requires a university degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years of experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems (order management or supply chain modules a plus).
• Familiarity with sales forecasting or demand planning is preferred.
• Knowledge of non-disclosure agreement (NDA) processes and obsolescence management is beneficial.
• Earned Value Management experience and related applications are advantageous.
• External customer support/interface experience and bid & proposal experience are desirable.
